Nan C. Jensen
Nan C. Jensen is the Family and Consumer Sciences Agent for Pinellas County Extension. She provides leadership to the local county nutrition, food safety and health programs which focus on key health issues such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, obesity and food borne illness. Nan also oversees the Extension money management program providing group classes and one-on-one financial coaching by Florida Master Money Mentors to help promote financial security among families and individuals.
Over the course of her career, she has been instrumental in seeking out and receiving additional dollars to support the local Extension program. Nan has a Bachelor’s Degree in Institutional Management and Human Nutrition from East Carolina University and a Master’s Degree in Human Nutrition from Florida State University.
She is a registered and licensed dietitian and participates in a variety of professional associations, including the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the National and Florida Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences. She is currently a member of the Extension Health, Nutrition, and Food Safety Priority Work Group that is responsible for leading the state-wide effort to educate the public on critical issues in nutrition, food safety and health.
